Why GRE?
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test that is an enrollment requirement for many graduate schools overseas. Anyone who is planning to pursue their Master’s abroad can take the GRE.
The GRE has been designed to check the academic awareness of the aspirant. Its scores are accepted by thousands of business and law schools worldwide. This test is conducted to enable educational institutions to identify applicants who are academically capable of completing the business or law program successfully.
GRE tests candidates:
- Analytical Writing Skills
- Quantitative Ability and
- Verbal Reasoning Skills
The GRE is conducted by the ETS (Educational Testing Service) and is one of the world’s greatest assessment programs for graduate admissions to business or law schools. The exam is conducted throughout the year and a candidate is permitted to retake GRE up to 5 times in a consecutive year. The GRE scores are valid for a period of 5 years.
Benefits of GRE?
The benefits of taking the GRE are mentioned below:
- Students who are planning to pursue master’s or doctoral programs in Math, physics, chemistry, and Psychology can take up the GRE subject test to improve their chances of getting selected.
- The right GRE score is your gateway to pursuing MBA, MS, and Doctoral program abroad.
- The GRE scores are extensively considered for selecting scholarship and fellowship candidates.
- Universities receive individual scores for each section. This helps them in identifying their weak areas and preparing extra support for a candidate.
- The GRE scores are valid for 5 years and this lets students apply for graduate schools after appearing for the test.
- The test gives you the facility of skipping, marking, and changing your answers. This is the only computer-based test that provides takers to reattempt questions.
- The official scores for GRE are available within 15 days of the tests. However, students can check their scores immediately after test commencement.
- A good GRE score can boost your chances of visa approval. Although the test is not tough as compared to GMAT, it still requires a sincere approach to crack GRE.
- Most US law schools accept the GRE instead of the GMAT.
